Establish a personal brand. Find something you like and become an absolute expert at it. Real estate is a byproduct of relationships. These were but a few of the invaluable insights shared by industry giants Hendrik Zessel of Cushman & Wakefield, Maury Dubuque of Colliers and Kevin Nelson of CBRE at CREW Vancouver’s first speaker series event of 2014.
Drawing in close to 90 participants, the luncheon was a resounding success as panelists kicked off with a recap of the market in 2013 as well as projected what’s to come in 2014. Expect the tech industry to continue to grow and transform the real estate landscape while 2 million square feet of new office builds in downtown Vancouver over the coming 3 years will alter the tenant-landlord dynamic and the way office space is viewed. High profile transactions that seem effortless are often a result of years of incredible hard work, toil and setbacks, which is why brokers that have perseverance, passion, confidence and an incredibly strong work ethic often rise to the top.
These were just some of the further insights offered by the panel whose compelling conversation was facilitated by moderator Lenora Gates. Lenora is Regional President of Orange Group Real Estate Tenant Solutions and past president of CREW Vancouver and her participation was also an integral part of keeping the conversation interesting and lively. We hope you enjoyed this event as much as we did and see you all at our second Speaker Series luncheon on March 26!
