Women in Construction Week: Kate O’Neill from PCI Developments

CREW Vancouver is celebrating Women in Construction Week by highlighting female construction leaders and teams that work with our 2021 Sponsors!

Meet Kate O’Neill | Senior Development Manager with PCI Developments

Kate Oneil Pci

Following completion of an undergraduate degree in Architecture and master’s degree in planning and development, Kate started her career in the UK, working for multiple real estate companies in Manchester and London. During this time, she gained valuable experience in site acquisition, valuation, development and master planning work, and worked closely with a number of London Boroughs to encourage the delivery of affordable housing as part of mixed used developments.

In 2018, Kate jumped at the opportunity to experience the West Coast lifestyle and gain an international perspective on real estate development.

In her role at PCI Developments, she is responsible for taking early design concepts through the municipal approvals process, from rezoning stage through to development and building permit. She also leads the design and technical consultant team, as well as managing the overall project budget and timelines.

Kate brings her 10+ years of development industry experience to all her projects. Her current projects have a strong focus on transit-oriented development in Vancouver. This includes:

  • The Broadway and Granville mixed-use development, which involves the delivery of a new SkyTrain station integrated within the building footprint.
  • The masterplan for the Great Northern Way Campus site, which is expected to encompass 600,000 square feet of mixed-use development. She is currently leading development.
  • Kate is also excited to be leading early design concepts for PCI’s first mass timber building in Metro Vancouver.

Outside of PCI Kate pursues excellence within Greater Vancouver’s commercial real estate industry. She is a chartered surveyor, sits on the Women of UDI Committee, and she was recently appointed by the City of Port Moody to sit on their Advisory Design Panel.
